Get to Know Dr. Savanna Day

Dr. Day genuinely loves getting to know her patients and using these relationships to provide them with care that’s perfectly catered to their specific needs. For her, there is no better feeling than giving a patient a great experience and knowing that they are working together to help them reach and maintain optimal oral health. She’s eager to welcome you into our practice, and below, you can learn a little more about her.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Day knew that she wanted to become a dentist when she was around 11 years old. The idea actually came from her mom, and it made perfect sense. Dr. Day enjoyed working with her hands, had an eye for fine details, liked learning about the body, and wanted to serve her community. All of these qualities clearly pointed to dentistry, and she couldn’t be happier with the path she’s chosen.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Day has a degree in chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University, and while there, she worked as an oral surgical assistant. She eventually earned her dental degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. On top of her basic dental training, she completed advanced courses focused on dental implant placement and restoration, periodontics, oral surgery, CAD/CAM dentistry, and restorative dentistry. She is also currently taking continuing education focused on airway dentistry, functional appliances, and lip/tongue-tie treatment.

To stay on top of the latest advancements in dentistry, she is a member of the American Dental Association as well as the American Association for Women Dentists.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Day grew up on a small cattle farm in Eastern Kentucky, and she still likes to visit because she thinks there’s nothing prettier than the rolling hills in the area. When she isn’t playing with or walking her dog, Cosmo, she likes to kickbox, read historical fiction, try new recipes, and enjoy blackberry wine.
